Removing rear sight blade and sight adjustment screw?
« on: February 11, 2006, 05:51:20 PM »
I seem to have stripped out the rear sight adjustment screw on my new 329PD.  I have an extra screw to replace it, but do not know how to remove the sight blade and screw.  Can someone explain to me how to do this?  I appreciate your help.

If I understand your problem correctly, the screw must be turned until broken. I think it must be turned all the way to the left side of the gun and more to break the screw. Then the sight body can be removed to the right.

If you stripped it out, I suggest you put pressure on the sight blade and then turn the screw at the same time. It that does not work, call S&W and have them send you a new rear sight.  :D

Actually, the rear sight blade(female) and the adjustment (windage) screw(male) have the threads, so if this is stripped, you have no choice but to replace it?
