S&W 625-7 ?
« on: February 05, 2006, 02:34:24 PM »
I just bought one for $400 about 98%.  I tried to find info, no luck.  It's a 45 colt ctg. satin stainless 3 in. barrel. How many produced and can I shoot +P loads?

Bear Wallow-

I have a performance center 625-7 45LC and I love it.  It's a real accurate gun and is as accurate as any gun I've had; including my FA.

I personally called SW to discuss this very topic.  You'll find that the gun is rated for +P loads, but they hesitate on the magnum load (go figure).

The PC may be different than yours.  Mine had the ball detent lock up and a real heavy slab side bbl.  I can tell you that I shoot 280 grn WFNGC at 1,050 fps and I think that is a good load for the gun.

Do your homework on your specific gun, but if you keep it to those moderate velocities you should be fine.  Heck give the folks at SW a call, they'll be happy to discuss it with you.

If you push bullets at moderate velocities using a wide meplat (WFN), you'll be quite pleased with the on-game performance.

SingleFan ,

Thanks for the info, I think I'll call S&W to get a few details.
