Sako Hunter .30-06 for $675 a good deal?
« on: March 18, 2003, 09:21:08 AM »
Local has an ad selling a used "like new" sako hunter .30-06, for $675.  Seems like a good deal to me, if in good or new condition.  Any opinions?

Tom

I'm not a certified gun appraisal person, but I do know that new Sako Hunters usually sell for about $850 or so.  As such, the price you mentioned seems fair as it is a used gun, but then again, that depends on the condition of the gun.  If it is in 99.9% condition, then $675 does seem fair.

I would try and get it for about $600, which is reasonable.

Tominboise:  There are a couple sako hunter models and it all depends on the condition of the rifle there is used and then again there is USED I would give it a through looking over and see if anything else comes along with it, but like Zach stated earlier make a fair offer the worst he can do is so no and then you would be obligated to look at some more guns. :D   JIM

Tom,
Have you looked into the on-line gun auctions to see if there are any comparible models being sold and what they're getting?  Now, that doesn't necessarily gurantee you womt pay too much, but it is a good example of what the market is like.  I have Sako Hunter Lightweight Bolt-actions from $695 AI (Short Action) .17 Rem up to $850 for the 375 H&H Mag.

Boy, you guys must get great gun prices.  I have bought 2 new sako 75 hunter rifles this year.  One in 06 (wood and blue) for 925.00, out the door, And another  7mm (wood and stainless) for 1050.00), out the door.  These were by far the best prices within a 200 mile radius.  I must live in the wrong part of the country.  A 10+ year old Sako in excellent condition around here will go for a minimum of 575.00.  I am amazed at the prices you are talking.

As I said before.....................Check the internet prices because location doesn't seem to be a major factor.  I think he's got a hellava good deal.
