Wood or Synthetic Stock on your Bolt-action Rifle
« on: February 03, 2006, 06:54:32 PM »
I know that synthetic stocks are all the rage right now, but I just can't get over the "toy gun" feeling. I like the rifle I'm holding to have some meatiness and to not sound like a bongo if I thump on the buttstock. Just My opinion.

The physical properties, I know give merit to the Fiberglass and Carbon reinforced stocks, but Plastic just feels... well.... plastic. Like the "synthetic composite" stocks on the stevens. I've heard that people have cut their fingers on the mold seams.

What do you guys think?
