Kimber does not make rifles in long action cartridges.  The apparent reason is that it is no consistent with their practice of building lighter weight rifles.  Personally, I do not believe that a long action cartridge like a .25-06, .270, or .30-06, is really going to add a noticeble amount of weight to the rifle, but, then again, I'm not the CEO of Kimber. :)

Kimber is making long actions for 2006 according to the new Peterson's Hunting magazine I picked up. I haven't seen any information on the weight of the new long action rifles. I don't see there being much of a difference.

They do indeed make long actions---cause I've seen one with my own eyes.

I just kept thinking---why would I want that monster when I can get a sweet little Montana in 7mm-08 or .308.

It was a nice enough rifle I suppose----just seems to me that Kimber has lost its way though.
