Replacing double-set triggers
« on: March 16, 2003, 04:30:53 PM »
I want to purchase a traditional caplock rifle this year, but the Lyman and Shenandoah rifles have a double-set triggers with a small enough trigger guard that won't accompany my heavy gloved finger.

Can a gunsmith replace a double-set with a single trigger on these models?

Triple Seven,

My guess, and it's just a guess is that you can order a single set trigger action from the maker.  If not, check one of the muzzle loader sellers that do alot of custom muzzle loading stuff, ie.  ThunderRidge

Yes you can. The easiest way if you don't have a lot of experience working on muzzleloaders, is to call Track of the Wolf and ask for a single trigger that has the same dimensions as the double set you have. Just drop it in.
