will a remington 700 BDL in 338 winchester mag. fit into a stock of a remington 700 BDL 30/06

I think you can make it fit by opening up the barell channel.
I seem to recall a magnum contour BDL stock for sale for $40.

Thanks killdeer the barrel isnt the problem i just waqnted to be sure that the actions were the same i have a HS  synthetic varmint stock and i took out the rem 06 and put it back into its original walnut stock and i was wondering if the 338 action would drop in like the 06 did.  Tanoose

Remington only makes to action lengths, short and long. The differences between the 30-06 and the 338 are in the action's internals, not it's length. There may still be some minor fitting required as with any rifle but nothing major.. except of course the barrel diameter differences between the '06 and the 338 mag.
