8 guage, 4 guage???

What can anyone tell me about these.  Did they make a 6 guage?  Who still makes the 8guage or bore..  I know in Europe they still make them but who?? also who makes ammo?  Thanks  :D

I couldn't find much info on the 8 bore but I hope that this helps you

(I think that field and stream did a article on big bore guns, you might want to check that out.)

I 'think' if you go into remington website and look into thier industrial section, you'll see that they make 8-ga shells and machine-guns (used for some factories) but, I don't think your interested in a 300-pound machine gun that shoots 8-ga rounds  :grin:

The thing about those gauges is the power curve goes up very quickly, shooting shotguns that big'll put a hurt on ya!!

Do a search on "punt guns."  Interesting stuff.  In the good ole days such guns were actually mounted to the boat.
