How is the front ram rod holder held on to the barrel of the Huntsman? I don't use the stock ram rod and I was wondering if there is anyway to remove it? I was also wondering if a laminated forearm from a rifle would fit on the barrel? Any info would be greatly appritieated.

My 2003 stainless steel Huntsman has a dovetail that the ring is pressed into. Don't know if you can knock it out though. It is possible it would go easier one way ot the other. Take a set a calipers and measure it first, it might be slightly wedge shaped. You might want a filler for the dovetail if you remove it though.

Yes the laminated forarm will fit the Huntsman.

Tap it out with a hammer and screwdriver. Put a good pack rod in your backpack. After I took a rasp to the Handi forearm to streamline, I much prefer the handling of my Huntsman now. I hate the ramrod, and the plug.
However, I love the accuracy... So I only shoot it at deer!
