help on huntsman muzzleloader
« on: January 09, 2006, 01:54:03 AM »
I have a new HR/NEF huntsman .50 cal (Pardner Combo w/ 12ga).

Could I get some advice on which bullets and powder and primers shoots the best pattern or is best load for deer hunting with the huntsman.

Also, which scope rings should I get that are high enough?

Thanks for your help.

I have med weaver style for my 32mm  but high is needed for 40mm.
Try 285gr barnes spitfire or barnes 300gr mz expander and 90gr loose t7 powder. You'll knock anything in north america in the dirt. If you use a pointed bullet like spitfire you'll need a adapter to change out the 8/32 thread that comes on the ramrod to 10/32 and a short jag for pointed bullets. Here's the adapter and jag.  The pointed bullets will give you bettter down range performance.  :D http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item.asp?sku=001061345
