IF I WANT TO RECHAMBER A NEW WINCHESTER TO A 264 WIN MAG WHICH WINCHESTER RIFLE SHOULD I START THIS PROJECT?? :D

Tough call!  You need to have a 30-'06 length action with a magnum bolt face in a 6.5 caliber barrel. Why not just find a 7mm Magnum action and put on a 26" barrel with an appropriate twist (1:9)? You might find a used 264 in a pawn shop or gun shop but you would probably have to rebarrel anyway.

What Paul is saying is that finding a 264 on the shelf is going to be difficult. The guys who have them appreciate them for what they are and do and will not part with them. I have an older Winchester  [push feed] as well as my custom Remington 700. Both 264 Win Mags. What Paul is saying  is to find an appropriate magnumized rifle in 7mm REM Mag as they are plentiful and re-barrel to 264. This is what I did on my Remington. Good luck on a great calibre. I have used one for over 30 years all over the world and NEVER been sorry.

I have a brand new Remington BDL SS in .264 Win Mag that was a special edition run.  I haven't even shot it yet.  However, I don't think that I want to part with it either. :)

I HAVE A WINCHERSTER MODEL 70 CLASSIC WITH THE BOSS IN 264 WIN MAG WITH BRASS AND MAYBE THE DIES FOR SELL $699 THIS IS A RARE WINCHESTER ONLY MADE IN 1996. THIS GUN HAS HAD MAYBE 50 ROUNDS DOWN THE BARREL AND IS MENT. LET ME KNOW

Why not get a sendero (brand new) from remington?

It would probably have to be a Model 70 in a magnum action.  But I don't know what magnum caliber would allow a rechamber to 264 Win Mag, so I am at a loss here.  You would most likely have to get a Winchester Magnum action and have it rebarrelled.  That would certainly be less costly than a new rifle. 

If it is definately the 264 Win Mag you want and not another 6.5mm bore with similar performance, a rebarrel is all I can think of (but I'm limited here, lol).  If you have a non-magnum M70 in 06 hanging around you could always have that rebarrelled to 6.5-06.  Just a thought.  Mikey.

7mm Rem mag
8mm Rem mag
338 Winmag
300 H&H mag
300 Win mag
375 H&H mag
458 Winmag

No bolt changes required.

I have a 264 Win Mag as well. Got it in the years they started reproducing them again at Winchester. I think you can still get them though through Winchester’s custom shop??

I know I would not trade mine for anything. I have had some problems with getting the boss set properly because there really isn’t any boss information for this caliber, but once you get it set properly it’s a tack driver at just about any range.

There is not one rifle anywhere I can think of that I would feel more comfortable making a long range shot with…I have taken down deer sized game from anywhere around 10 yards up to 600 yards and it’s never taken more than one shot. With the right bullet behind this caliber, I have not seen the animal that will run…

Good luck on getting your rifle set up.

P.S. I happened to notice some guy on the net that makes 264 Win Mag barrels…that might be a cheaper route then going and trying to do it all custom.
