Tryit: In answer to your question, you should have no problem at all. I have a CZ 527 Lux/American with the Simmons Whitetail Classic 6.5x20x50 mounted on it. My rifle began life as a CZ 527 Lux in .223 Remington. I had problems quickly finding the the scope with the stock configuration of the Lux model, so I bought one of the aftermarket CZ-USA Fancy Grade American Walnut stocks for it. The only problem was, the Lux model has the sights. I removed the front sight completely, and drifted the dovetail part of the rear sight completely out of the rifle. It left a barrel band, however, so when I bought the American-style stock I had to do some minor inletting. I then glassbedded the action and first inch and one-half of the barrel and it became one hell of a shooter for me. The objective bell of the scope is 2.5 inches and it is just a tad too big to fit on the rifle without hitting the barrel band while adjusting the parallax. So, I just moved it forward a tiny bit so the adjustment band on the scope completely clears the band, forward of the band. The Simmons still has a long eye relief. It is, however, a butt-ugly scope with that crinkle finish. I plan to replace it with the 6x21x44 Simmons Master Series Pro-Hunter when it becomes available. The objective bell on that scope should easily clear the rear sight band with the provided CZ Rings. The CZ 527 American does not have the rear sight band problem to deal with, so you should be able to mount a scope with a 50mm objective lens with no or few problems. For my tastes, the power range is a bit much for the .22 Hornet, but what the hell, it is your rifle, your scope and if that's what floats your boat, by all means, go for it. Tom Purdom
