I'm shipping my Ultra back to H&R.
What is the best way to do it.
USPS, UPS ?
What does it cost

USPS Priority will usually cost less but doesn't offer tracking, unless you ship express. Consider removing the lam stock set and sending it with no stock set or put a plain pallette or syn stock set on it cuz they tend to damage stocks. If you know the weight, you can do an online shipping estimate at either...

For cost and speed I recommend USPS Priority Mail w/ Delivery Confirmation. Also, as usual Quick was correct re: removing any nice stock. Either send it w/o a stock or a better scenario (I think the best), send it in with a "junker" stock and no forearm, they can't seem to beat up a synthetic stock to badly. Also if the trip back is fpr a new rifle barrel ask them to test fire it and to send you the target. I have as have others. They have not honored that request for me but they have done it for others. And be sure to request the free trigger job if your gun needs it!! Good luck and Merry Christmas....<><.... :grin:

Thanks guys:
I'm shipping it back in the morning.
I will have to send it back with the nice Lam stock as that is the only one I have. It is a brand new gun that won't shoot straight.
Groups are 2.5"-3.5" :eek:
The receiver to barrel fit is very sloppy. I am sending a detail note on the problem.

Hylander....from everything that's been said about the way stocks are beat up,I'd send it WITHOUT stocks

Well it went out this morning USPS:
Priority, insured and signature confirmation.
The first guy to wait on me said we can't mail that, I said yes you can, he said no we can't, I said yes you can he said no we can't, I said YES YOU CAN , Check the Reg's.
Then he says, go see the other guy at the end of the counter
I go see that guy and he is very accommodating
Looks up the regs and away we go, no Problems, very pleasant.
Cross your fingers for me.

Well I guess srewed up

I sent it back on the 22nd., USPS tried to deliver it yesturday the 24th.
They left a note that they can retry to deliver or they can pick it up,
If it is not claimed they will send it back.
So seeing how they will be closed for the next two weeks, looks like I will be getting it returned and will have to pay to have it reshipped all over again :x
We I talked to them they said nothing of being closed for two weeks :x

Well I never got a confermation from USPS that my rifle was signed for or delivered.
I sent it out Dec. 22 and here it is Jan. 10.
USPS says they "think" they delivered it the 27th but no Signature
And their not even sure it was delivered. I paid for Signature Confermation. H&R Shipping did not shut down like the rest of the company. I called H&R and Yes they do have it ( Finaly ). Three weeks later, They said about two weeks turn around, I can wait.
But I am more than PO'ed with USPS :x
There is more to the story but I won't bend your Ear's anymore.

i never liked them much any way i always ship UPS i have a good track record with them for me USPS has screwed up more thing then they've got right that includes delivering mail on time my post office stinks.
