anyone seen the new 229 SIG, DAO, dehorned, wood grips?
« on: December 19, 2005, 06:50:51 AM »
Guns & Ammo has an article on a new SIG 229 variant.  It is heavily dehorned on all edges, has wood grips, and is DAO with about a 6.5# pull.  Anyone seen one in the flesh yet?
Success is a journey, not a destination...  Might as well enjoy the ride!!

Just remember, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.  You can rely on 911 or on 1911. The choice is yours.

No, but I hope to see the heavily dehorned 239 with wood grips for my birthday in a couple of days ;)

About a year ago saw one of the new DAO Sig 229 issued to our Conservation Officers here in Michigan with the receiver rail.  The action on that pistol is one of the best I have seen on a production gun.  The gun I handled was in 40 S&W.  I carried a P226 in 9 MM for about 10 years as well as a P226 in 40 S&W for two years before I retired from Law Enforcement.  The DAO Sig 229 is a big improvement.
Take care and keep you powder dry.  :D
