Tikka T3 Lite is a GREAT rifle (so far)
« on: December 17, 2005, 04:27:48 PM »
I just bought the Tikka T3 Lite in 25-06 this morning and sighted it in this afternoon.
THIS THING SHOOTS GREAT

The trigger is the crispest I've ever felt,NO creep.
the bolt is silky smooth
LOVE the integrated scope rail
Accuracy.....hmmmmm,.....that is where the Tikka SHINES

half inch groups of 3 @ 100 yards....only shot 2 groups,BOTH were the same (shot a round,waited a couple of minutes,shot another round,etc.) waited 15 minutes between groups

I love the way it feels, the weight, the trigger, the accuracy and even the look....not walnut, but it has its advantages, and yes, even beauty

cannot think of anything I'd change about it even if i could
Good shot placement + well constructed bullet = DEAD

You are discovering, for yourself, what more and more people are finding out.  The Tikka is a great rifle.  Have fun shooting those small groups. :D

The only problem I have had with a Tikka was with the first one!  I was pretty much wanting to buy another one the first day I took it to the range.  This is one sweet, accurate, smooooooth gun for the money!!!

Buckfever,if I ever need another caliber I'll DEFINATELY buy another one......I chose the 25-06 because it seems like a pretty good coyote gun,too (bought it MAINLY for whitetails)

Thanks for the positive re-inforcement,guys   :D

Tikkas are my favorite make of rifle.  Not just because they are, IMHO, the best value, but because they are truly one of the finest factory rifles made.

Zachary, I agree with you. I love my Tikka in 300 Win Mag.  :D

Hey Redhawk - Happy Sunday to you. :D

One of the things that took me totally by surprised when I first bought my Tikka was the trigger.

I have owned many makes of rifles, but the Tikka and Sako are by far the best factory triggers.

I once had a horrible factory trigger on my Remington BDL SS DM in 7mm-08.  It was so bad, that the trigger moved a lot from side to side,  it had lots of creep, and quite a bit of overtravel.  It was definately a defect because none of my other remingtons had that problem.

In any event, the gunsmith said that I could have returned the rifle to Remington and they would replace it (because it was beyond being repaired).  But, since I was going to the range that afternoon, and I needed the gun for a hunt the following week, the gunsmith convinced me to buy a Jewell trigger.

Let me tell you, the Jewell trigger has to be the finest trigger in the world.  It is just increadible.  However, it costs about $230 + $50 for installation.  Now take a look at the Tikka/Sako trigger.  It is VERY close to a Jewell trigger, yet it is already included in the price of the factory rifle.  The Jewell trigger and Tikka/Sako trigger are both self-adjustable too.

Alot of people like the new Savage accu-trigger...I don't.  Why?  Because it is, IMHO, a cheap way to fix a crappy trigger.  You first have to pull the trigger in the middle, and then pull the main trigger.  What kind of junk is that?  Just build it right the first time like Tikka/Sako.  When I pull the trigger, I want to pull just ONE trigger, not TWO.
