7.62x39 Misfires
« on: December 13, 2005, 05:29:32 AM »
My CZ 527 frequently fails to fire UMC and Russian made ammo. It's 100% reliable with handloads. Is there a fix or do I just give up on cheapo ammo?

Give CZ-USA a call and they will send you a new firing pin spring - mine was doing the same thing and the new spring fixed it - they are good folks to deal with!

I've had no problems with misfires with russian ammo, but I have had problems with handloads using CCI primers.

Buford, I'm primarily a cast bullet shooter, and seriously impressed with the CZ in that role. I coulda gone along quite happily without shooting the cheapo ammo, but I picked up a shooting girlfriend. It'd keep me busier than I wanna be keeping us both in ammo.

Girlfriends need to be kept happy, so misfires are something one should avoid at all cost!
  How's that .308 shooting?

Haven't shot the .308 much, Vance. What little good weather we've had has been eaten up with other stuff.
