How many rounds do you usually load up at a time when working up a new load? Can't see any sense in loading up a box of 20 if I have no idea how they'll fly..

Frog123: Get a kenetic hammer and keep good records pertaining to the loads, powder used type brand etc. If the load dont work out you can always take it apart and salvage the bullet and powder for another load. But accurate records are important, If you have a place where you load try only a couple at a time as I do as I have a range here at the house and dont have to nowhere to try them out.

A lot of shooters like to shoot 3 shot groups, I myself like to shoot 5 shot groups I think that you can tell more about the round if its a 5 shot group, so when I am making my rounds I useally will make 5 of each one that I want to try. Hope this makes sense and helps.

If I shoot 3rd groups I load at least 15, I never trust just one or two groups. I also take along a load that I know is a good shooter to compare with if I have one. That way I can tell more easily if my load is off or if I am off on that particular day. KN

I shoot groups of five.I'am going tomorrow to the range for a new bullet load.Example i'am loading for a .223 contender new 45g bullet.my other 45g bullets i use likes h322.I have them loaded in groups of five.they are 23.5g,24g.24.5g,25g,and 25.5g.I seated them .10 off lands.I pick the best group out of these.Then i will make this load up with all avaible primers in groups of five.Take the best group of these and play with seating depth.I also make a habit to do two differnt calibers at a time.Tommorrow i will also be working loads on a 357 barrel i will shoot one .233 round then one .357 round.This lets my barrel cool between shots.I also clean my barrel every five shots then fire two fouling shots. (not at my target)I use targets that use 5 bulls so i will only have two targes one for each gun.I take them home and log all info in my loading folder and cut out each group and paste on the back of the page.This has always worked for me i'am sure there are faster ways.

Generally I load 5 of each weight, in 0.3 grain steps from my minimum to my mazimum charge. In addition I load 50 rounds right in the middle of my loading data to use as foulers and sighters.

I usually load nine at a time. That way it gives me a chance to shoot a three shot group, a five shot group and one left over to set the seating die up for future loading if the it works out well.
