« on: December 12, 2005, 12:53:20 AM »
im thinking abt getting one
dont know jack abt front loaders
i have several handi's and like em all alot
what is the best powder/load combo for these guns?
what is recoil like with say a 300 sst with around a 100 grains of either pyrodex or 777?
how do you unload a charge if you cant shoot it out? like i hunt on sunday and dont see anything and dont want to just shoot the gun to empty it, what do i do??
what kind of accuracy can i expect from a sidekick??
thanks

If you have a handi rifle already you could just add a huntsman barrel instead of getting a sidekick just a thought. My huntsman shoots just about any load with good accuracy. I was shooting 240gr xtp with 2 t7 pellets and getting about 1.5 to 2 groups. Saturday I tried 285gr spitfires and 90gr loose t7 3f and got the best groups I have ever shot. 1st 3 same hole with 4&5 cutting the edges. I have 2 other bolt ML's and my huntsman out shoots them and is easier to clean. Unless I hunt in some bad weather, I leave my ML loaded and just remove primer after a hunt. I have left it as long as 1.5 months and when I shot it it was on the money. If you don't like that you can remove breech plug powder will fall out and you push bullet out through barrel only takes a couple of minutes. Most recommend you soak it in water before you do that to deaden charge. The kick I would say with that bullet combo would be like a 7 mag or maybe 30-06.
