3/4 scale guns in VA
« on: December 10, 2005, 12:41:45 PM »
Hello, i am well aware that scale guns are not allowed in the N-SSA and i know that was because it was a issue with the big gun owners but i will get a full scale gun in a few years but do not put the little man down yet.
i am interested if any other people has scale guns that ran out of inspection are there others? if so where are adn whould you like to see them or would you like to come and shoot with me and help me on y way to shooting with the big boys? hell we can host our own shoot for just us scale guns. i know there is a AAA shoot in the making at whinchester and any gun will be able to shoot i cant wait! but how about more shoots? up north there are lots of compititions for us. but i am here in Va. and i cant go that far with my truck. and my job. i will meet anyone witha scale gun or a big gun that wants to shoot at a range or a field in Va or north carolina. let me know if there are more guns sitting in your garages and barns not being used anymore lets use them or let me know what you want for them.

Rick -

Welcome to the board!

There are a number of folks in the VA/NC area that participate from time to time here.  I'm in Pulaski, VA.  There are quite a number of local folks that shoot, but there is no central place or organization - just good old boys that get a wild hair once in a while and make the valleys echo.

Keep us updated on the Winchester shoot.  It's in the neighborhood.

Tell us more about the AAA shoots.  Will I have to dress up shoot?  Will my CVA 50 cal Napolean be able to shoot?  What about my homeade version of a naval gun?

Tell us more!

Rampa,

We joined AAA this summer and attended a meet in Westerloo NY.

Gawd, what a ride.

They are an informal group.

You can shoot in peroid dress, or not as you wish.

Safety is a major issue with them, as it should be.

There was talk of a meet in the Virginia area in the future.

I have some pictures somewhere around here from there.

Here's one. It is a Krupp breach loader from late in the 1800's.
