Stevens Model 200 Trigger Adjustment
« on: November 25, 2005, 02:08:41 PM »
Have any of you Stevens 200 owners made trigger adjustments on your rifle?
Mine is still a bit heavy for my liking. Looking at this trigger assembly, I'm not sure which screws are for the trigger adjustment, or is it a combination of screws? Stevens has me on this one..................

Thanks,

the one sliver one with one leg of a spring going to it.

turn the action upside down and turn the screw counterclockwise until you hear a click after your turns. this is the spring "clicking into" the grooves in the screw. this keeps it from coming "undone."

play with it unitl you get it where you want it. Mine came easy but yours might not. As always, make sure your safety still works when you put it all back together and that pressure on the trigger before taking the safety off doesn't cause it to fire later. Also, whack the butt on the floor a bit with the safety off and on and make sure that doesn't set it off either.

i was pretty darn surprised at the quality of that trigger too. for $279 you don't expect much.

glad to hear it worked for you.
