17-4 Target hammer & trigger
« on: November 23, 2005, 06:46:45 AM »
Just bought a NIB 17-4, but does not have the target hammer and trigger. I have looked for a specimen with those features for awhile, but found this one for $365, so bought it even though it didn't have the .500 hammer and .400 trigger that I wanted.

I've done a number of action jobs over the years, but not on one of these.
I've found the parts, but was curious if there are any major concerns to be alert for.

I know I'll have to fit the sear engagement, anything other than that?

Thanks!

Oops, one additional question, is the serrated .400 trigger for the 17-4 the same as for a Model 10?

Triggers are the same but, there is no guarentee they will drop right in a different pistol. May require some careful honing by a competent gunsmith. Brownells should have a target trigger and hammer for your gun. Or perhaps Gun Parts in Numeric NY?
