i went pig hunting in Southeast Texas this weekend.  i seen lots of hogs   i shot 3  but only found 2   at 7am on monday a good sized calico boar came to my feeder  and shot him at about 15 yards  he went 35 yards  and piled up  i didnt  see anything the rest of the day until about 430 pm  i had heavily baited a feeder early  and when  i walked up to the feeder there were at least  50 hogs   at the feeder  i decided to not shoot until i got in the stand as there were some big boars  there  and wanted to get a good shot on one.  i got in my stand  and 10 min later they came back  a huge  boar,  the biggest  i have ever shot with a bow  came out  i was 20 yards away  sitting in my 16 foot buddy stand  i shot hitting him square in the shoulders i looked   for at least 2 hrs for him   but no blood  nothing   the arrow had stayed in him.  as  i was walking in the brush  a big black sow  came right at  me  i dont rember drawing aiming or anything   but  i hit her right in the right eyeball dropping her withing feet of  me  my heart was pounding hardhttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c265/howie1968/HPIM0125.jpg[/IMG]

Where in SE TX?    That sounds like a fun hunt.    Our hogs are so darn nocturnal now I was surprised to see two Sat. night.  Unfortunately, they were a little far for my daugher to try a shot and didn't stay long.

Some moonlit night in the near future I will catch up with them.

What do you guess that boar weighed on the hoof?

well i mainly night hunted over feeders with my bow  the big boar m i shot but did not recover  must have gone 300lbs  i hit him  with my light as he came in to the feeder  and alls i seen  was cutters  and body  huge huge pig   the other 2  i recovered  were probally in  the 150-200 lb range  hard to say  but i know i was wore out pulling them out.  i hunted then in Woodville, Texas  which is about 125 miles from you pepaw  up 190 East  lots of hogs in that area  and alot harder to hunt them  with all the trees blown down

Dagnabit Howie,

If you don't get yourself a real job soon there won't be any hogs left for us to hunt.
