1885 Price
« on: November 22, 2005, 01:35:57 AM »
I am looking for a suggested price for a browning 1885 in 45-70.  The gun is clean, but has a rub mark on the forearm.  It has browning base with leupold rings, but no scope.  What would be a good/fair price for this gun?

Thanks.

Depends: are you buying or selling?  45-70 seems to be the most common caliber for the 1885.  Browning did pretty much all the "commemorative" versions in the 45-70; and the Uberti and other clones mostly seem to be in 45-70 too.  If you're buying, you might be able to talk someone down to $700-$750.  If you're selling, I'd say ask $900-$950.
