Thanks Ramrod. I just looked at the ad again and I can see the stock is actually black. How can I tell if this is one of those elcheapo walmart jobs ? The ad just says winchester model 70 and they believe it was made for the RMEF.

Any of the RMEF guns should have it so marked on the box and will generally have a medallion or something marked or etched on the gun some where to say it also I think.

Still for a NIB Model 70 the price ain't bad.
