What are you Thankful for/what do you want for Christmas?
« on: November 20, 2005, 03:19:55 PM »
I'll start it off -

I'm thankful for my wife having survived (very well) a mini-stroke.
(and a whole world full of caring friends)

I'd love to have a brass (steel lined) small (so it's easy to transport) but large-bore howitzer.  Not picky, I'll settle for a pound of powder.

I'm thankfull for a VERY understanding wife. She's the greatest!

I've been thinking about getting myself a piece of bronze big enough for a doublesized boat Howitzer. After I shot Jeepers a couple of times I'm hooked. Stay tuned for another construction article.

May all your lights be green

The lady i'm with, The hip that still works, and having a bunch of people like you guys around so that I don't think I'm the only one! And Of course things that go BOOM in the night! (I live near camp Pendelton and the 1250 pound line charges go off & warm the cockles of my heart! & shake the windows too!)
Last year I heard silent night to real cannon fire! Lovely!

i fired off my home grown signal cannon, 3/4 bore, the other day,
it was foggy and no wind,
used a bread-cannonball,
OH,gawd its loud, it echoed all around the coldesack,
i had to hide for the rest of the day,

Thankfull for family and want more toys

Yes I too am thankfull that I have a wonderfull wife and son and a job I like.
What I would like realistically for Christmas is a copy of the More Complete Cannoneer or Wayne Starks Big Guns book. Unrealistically I want a 10 inch 1861 siege mortar from Paulson Brothers , a 15 inch Rodman cannon ball and a AK 47 underfolder. The last three have been on my list of things I want for some time now but I think santa will have to give me a million dollar winning lottery ticket before I'll ever see any of them.

I am thankful for my wife of 44 years, our good health and a wonderful son. I am also thankful for her understanding and putting up with all of my large, heavy, and noisy toys over the last 30+ years.

I am also thankful for a loving and caring God who has protected us from harm and evil.

What I want for Christmas is for our continued good health and peace throughout the world.
Always think safety...be a More Complete Cannoneer.

I'm thankful to be alive.
As to what I want, it would be nice to be able to walk again, hopefully without pain.
I may not be completely sane, but at least I don't think I have the power to influence the weather.

thankful for an understanding wife and friend of 20 plus years. For the freedoms this great country allows us all to enjoy every day, like these guns and the ability to associate with all you good people.

Practical-A bowling ball mortar, presently.
Un-practical--A full scale "Dictator"

Happy Thanksgiving to all

As for being thankful everybody here pretty much posted my feelings. I guess I'm not different. It would be nice having a bigger backyard, But knowing myself I would wind up leveling all the trees with some heavy artillery and wind up with a field   I heard this saying "God might not give you everthing you want, But he will give you everything you need" I feel like I got everything I need. In a ways It was a rather "tough" year for me, And I like to say this message board and messing around with the "micro" cannon really made things easier to take. Thanx for being around.

The last two posts reminded me that I too want a 13 inch firable dictator mortar more than just about anything else. My sons desire of a Cohorn mortar is more sane though.  I also forgot to metion that I am thankfull for this mortar/cannon forum. I can't wait to check out the forum every day and every now and then I bring a batch of printed out forum posts home and my son and I read them enthusiastcally.

I too am grateful for my wife.,my work and my employee. They are both helping me to achieve my dream.., A Pirate themed scuba diving resort. And I am grateful both of them will be coming with me to run it. (Retirement)

So far the beach will have 11 big guns. Both of these people are helping me to stay young and run our Rooter Service .
