Although it is somewhat hard to prove there is a common consensus amongst break action gun shooters that eliminating any contact between barrel and foreend improves accuracy. This can be accomplished a couple different ways - hanger bar setup which uses a short piece of square bar bolted to the existing dovetail nuts on a TC barrel, the foreend attachs to the square bar. This requires a foreend made for this set up. - next one is a factory foreend that the owner has placed either small washers, orings or combinations of both between the factory foreend and the dovetail nuts...thereby 'spacing' the foreend out away from the barrel. I'm a believer and all of my barrel setups use one or the other. I have made a few of my own foreends and they are copies of the hanger bar set up.
