Parker crossbows ???
« on: October 25, 2005, 03:01:41 AM »
Anybody know about the parker brand crossbows?  Look good on the internet claims a good arrow speed.  How do they compare to the ten points.  I was looking at the safari magnum set up.  They claim to have good triggers also.  Anybody actually own one, I noticed they are located in my home state Virginia.  Have not heard anything about them here or other places on the net or locally.

Well according to the Peterson Crossbow mag that just started up this year ( First issue)  they have a good rep and are right up there with Excaliber and Ten Point. DO not have the mag handy but I think they were in the top 5 brands
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

I have a Parker Mag. It leaves nothing to be wanted! The reason I got it was the trigger group. It has a excellent trigger, from the factory 2 1/2 lbs. no creep. It is heavy though, but I think the weight helps it shoot smooth. Very nice X Bow.

I just got a parker buck buster at cabelas.  I was looking at some Hortons, but the parker came highly recommended by the crossbow guy, who really seemed to know his grits.

I like it.  It shoots well, the only problem I have with the funciton is that the safety let-off is LOUD.  You can let it off using a lot of control and make it go quiet, but if you just let it drop...  loud.

It has the three red dot on it.  Very clear dots, adustable brightness.  Right now I just set the lowest dot to 50 yards... but that will get further in a couple days once I get used to it a little more.  Though it doesn't take much getting used to, I'll put my first group below.

The trigger let off is clean, cocking is very smooth.

This was my first four shot group at 50 yards.  The one away from the group - definitely shooter error.  Cabelas chapstick for size reference  ;D  Yeah.. I just helped pay for their christmas party.

Notice how the bolts are facing different directions...  the crossbow had enough power to make the target jump, at 50 yards!

I have one of the Parker terminators and could not be more pleased with it.  I no longer shoot groups with it, only one arrow per spot, I seriously was busting too many bolts.  I have had mine for a year now and have had no problems at all with it.  I looked at the ten points and excalibers before I bought the Parker, I couldn't tell much difference between them for me it came down to preference the Parker just seemed to fit me better. I think you will be well served by any of the three.

I shoot a Parker Terminator, as well as a Excalibur Vortex. The Parker in my 'hunting bow', the Vortex my fun bow. The Terminator is more compact, making it easier to maneuver in a blind and as accurate as a bow gets. It's trigger is very smooth and predictable. The auto safety is a great feature. And the folks at Parker know the meaning of customer support. When an aftermarket string broke, sending the string slide flying into space, they had one to me in 2 (yes) days....free. It's a compound so it takes  a bit more maintenance but if I had to choose, it would be the Parker.

:D I had bypass surgery so I had to go the xbow path. I went with a Cyclone. I was competition shooter and triggers are my passion! Parker triggers are very impressive to me. Absolutely NO creep! As for that their quality is insurpassed no matter how much you spent! I am totally satisfied!

Parker has been building compound bows for some time but they entered the crossbow market recently.  I've shot the BuckBuster many times at our local range.  It belongs to a friendly club member.  I almost bought a display model for $350. in 2008.  But a Ten Point BuckMaster came up (cheap) on CraigsList.

The BuckBuster has higher velocity with same stroke length as competitors.  This is noteworthy.

You cannot go wrong with Parker.

Good hunting to you.

My son-in-law bought a 2009 model Spartan last week for $300. plus tax.  Its light and short but is quite accurate.  This Parker will shoot dixie cups at 20 yards!  No kidding.  I'm not sure why anyone would could ask for more or why they'd pay over $600. for the higher end models by Parker and others.

I shoot the Parker Cyclone. I was a Horton fan for a long time, but I will stick with Parker Crossbows from now on.
