I live in st.pete FL and would like to go hunting but i don't know of any places to hunt  near home. so far most of hunting has been around my home. DOES anyboby know a good place to hunt in FL  not far from st.pete. :cry:

Jam,
   I live across the Bay near Plant City. Are you looking for small game hunting or deer and hog and the like? A lot of the wildlife management area offer small game seasons. Check out www.myfwc.com and look over an area near you.
   There is also a county park in Manatee County that is out in Duette. to get there you could drop down 275 and jump the skyway then go east on 64. It would still be an hour or so away though.
   How far would you be willing to go?

i moved from st. pete to crystal river two years ago. (about 80 miles north)
the closest wma to you, is green swamp.
 i live within thirty minutes of several good spots now. so i get to hunt more often.

i am looking for small game. Things you could hunt with a 223 or 22.
