Lawdog, I just meant anyone, no big deal. least kick, most accurate, least exspensive to shoot, etc.

I wonder which cartridge will come out on top?

Yes, i do know how to count to eight, but i don't need eight calibers. I do always need to learn more about how to use the one that i have.

only 8 requires some serious consideration, but here it goes in no particular order...

.22 long rifle
.35 Rem
7mm-08
.338-06
.44 Rem mag
.223 Rem
12 gauge
.50 cal muzzleloader

my list is based on my needs for the type of hunting that I do. It is NOT intended to reflect an arsenal needed to hunt anything from 'chucks to cape buff!

Hmmm, have to get permission from the wife to add a couple, but my hard way 8 would be:

.22lr
.223 Remington
6.5x55 Swede
.270WSM
.357 Magnum
9mm
.375 H&H
12 ga.

I only have 5 of them currently, and not really sure I "need" the .375 H&H, but for top end stuff, it would need to be available.  I like the .223 in both bolt action and semiauto, currently own rifles in the 6.5x55 and .270WSM. along with several .22lrs and 9mm and .357 Mag (which also handles the .38 spec.)

9mm
357 mag.
54 cal BP
12 gauge
.223
6.5 grendel
7mm Mag

Oh yeah, this is the Bolt Action forum....  Oops!  Did they have to be available in bolt action only?
