Give the Premier Grade scopes from Swift a look. I have a 6-18 power on my Encore 223 and it has held up for some rough treatment back home bouncing around in my truck and lugging it around the fields for Yotes. I got mine from EA Brown CO. It wasn't much over $100.00. I think about $150.00 with shipping. I also have one of their Pistol scopes and it has held up to a few years pounding from a 357 Maximum.  Great scopes for a reasonable price. I like them better than Trashco scopes.

I have a simmons on a .22  It stays true, but it is not very bright.

Simmons HG scopes seem to be in the $120 range.

Weaver is in the same price range.

Weaver > Simmons IMHO.

Get a Bushnell handgun scope instead, you will be a lot happier.  :D

I have a 4X simmons on my 221 fireball and so far no problems.  If I were going to buy one today I would get the 2x - 6X.  I paid about $100
