Scope is too short
« on: October 03, 2005, 02:30:47 PM »
I am trying to mount a Bushnell (dusk to dawn) 4-12x onto my Stevens 200 (in 270 so a long action). I have used two weaver #46 bases. But it seems that the scope is 1/8" too short.  There is no budget for a new scope right now, so what options do I have.

extended or offset scope rings.  They are set back to allow more adjustment in eye relief.

Check out midwayusa and search for extended scope rings.

Go to a different sight base if you can.  If you are using two sight bases see if you can fit a Weaver rail to the action and you should be able to mount your scope successfully.  I had a similar problem, almost, with a Bushnell Banner Dawn to Dusk 1.5x4.5 power mounting it on a 8mm 98 action with two bases, so I ordered a Weaver rail and will mount that to the rifle and then shouldn't have any problems with my short scope.  HTH.  Mikey..
