Postal match anyone?
« on: October 01, 2005, 08:30:48 AM »
I fired this group today thru my 527 carbine in 7.62x39. With wolf 154 grain soft points no less. Range was 100 yards. At the start of the shooting session the wind was variable. But then it settled into a steady 10 to 15 mph cross wind and i shot this group thru it.

.627-.310=.317 "3 shot group!!!

I'll just have to give up on developing a hunting load there's no way i can improve on this. Velocity or accuracy wise. The wolf ammo chronographed at an average of 2185fps.

Again anyone want a postal match? I've already shot my entry target.

. . .nice group. . .but where's the bullseye?  Doesn't matter how good your group is if you don't hit the bullseye. . .

I was with him when he shot the group. It's sighted about 3" high. That group made him give up on handloading for the rifle.
