I made two range rods a while back and love them. Made handles for them out of wood and they work well. I went hunting the other day and just took one with me strapped to my pack. After getting home, I decided to remove the stock rod from gun along with the little ring that it threads through as it is as useless as teats on a boar. That being said, yes, I did see some deer, elk and one bull moose. Unfortunately, none of the deer were bucks though I did manage to get within 34 yards of a number of does and they never knew that I was there. I stalked 15 yards from the bull moose too
Man, I was a little worried he was gonna charge me, but he just ambles off while I was digging for my camera in my pack. The moose tag is a once in a lifetime hunt here in Utah and I did not draw one yet
