I think these rifles are old-world beautiful! I want to get one but am still not settled on caliber. I had rifles in 6.5-55, .223, and 30-06 by Tikka. I think I need a 550 FS to mix it up a little bit! Also thought a 527 FS in a .223 might work nice for closer shots on prairie dogs with open sites. So many choices!!!! Buckfever

I have one in 6.5x55 swede and another in 9.3x62 mauser. Both are wonderful rifles.

If your wanting a Mannlicher stock and from what calibers you say you already have then it sounds like the 243 might fit in perfect there. :wink:
Can be a good varmint rifle and will really reach out there and touch something.

Sir, How much does that 9.3x62 kick? I am thinking of going on a Canadian Bear hunt in the future. Can you compare to a 30-06? How much more? Thanks Buckfever

The 9.3 to me feels much like a heavy loaded 30-06. I've never shot it in any rifle other than this one. The mannlicher while not a heavy rifle, with a scope is not exactly a light one either. I don't think the recoil is too bad.
