CZ model 3
« on: September 27, 2005, 06:42:38 PM »
Have any of you had the privilege of shooting this rifle yet? I fell in love with this rifle the first time I ever seen it. I haven't got to see one in person yet but only in the catalog that I just got. I think it is one of the best looking rifles on the market and if it shoots anything like my 527 does then it has to be sweet. I would like to hear about any real world experience with this rifle.
Here is a link for those who have not seen this model.

I haven't had the opportunity to shoot one yet, but I have handled two Model 3s. I am quite impressed with this rifle. The craftmanship is excellent. This is a very classy rifle in either stainless or blue finish.

Heard a rumor that the model 3 is discontinued.  The WSM will be offered in another existing model.  If you want one you may have to get on it.

Hi All,

Hmmmmm could it be that the WSM just ain't selling, unlike what the gun writers and magazines would have us believe

I bought one last month, about two weeks before our elk season..  shot it six times to sight in, and split the beautiful walnut stock from the tang down thru the pistol grip.     contacted CZ and said to send whole rifle back after season for a replacement stock.. meanwhile, bought a Hogue overmolded for the M70 short mag action,, action dropped right in, but bottom metal needed to  be let in.. fit and shot well, but heavy.. . I'm about to send this back for a new walnut stock.. will keep you'all posted on progress.    HTH.. Les

Just FYI, CZ doesn't make the Model 3. Montana Rifleman does, its made on their Model 99 pattern. And, as I recall, they are using the same metallurgy as Ruger, investment cast actions. Nothing but good reports on their actions and barrels.

More on the Model 3

It wasn't lack of sales or problems.  It was the inability to control costs with it being farmed out.  They are going to offer the WSM's but not in the Model 3.   Buckfever
