I agree Tikka's are impressive. I purchased a Tikka T-3, in .223 Rem,
last Spring, and due to a new home building project, I have
not had time to really test this rifle's accuracy. A couple of days
back, I finally got back on the loading bench, and was finishing
up a batch of .223 55 gr. Nosler loads, that I shoot in my AR-15s.
I had a replacement Mueller scope, that I just re-mounted,
back on this new Tikka, since the seals went on the first Mueller.
As I looked down the bench at the Tikka, on the cleaning stand,
I got this powerful urge to zero the new scope, so since I had the
reloading stuff set up, for .223, I grabbed some 55 gr. TNT bullets,
that I am using for plinking, and cranked out a dozen scope
zeroing loads. Mind you these loads are just kind of generic
loads that I have found to shoot well in my AR-15s, and they
are in no way tuned to this rifle. So after walking the POI across
the paper, changing the scope adjustments to match the rifle,
I shot two 3 shot groups, just for fun. One measured .4, and one
measued .3, MOA. I was shooting into the sun, and into a 7 mph
quartering into the muzzle wind. When I got to the target, I cracked
a big smile, and thought, this one is going to be a good one. Both
of the groups had two bullets through the same hole, and one
just off horizontally, to my favorite "pull" side. I can't
wait to find this rifles favorite load! This one truely is a
woodpecker!
I just have one more thing to say. Beretta, PUHLEEESE make
a .20 cal, in a T-3!
