Ok for Wild Imports - What About Big Shots of Idaho?
« on: August 12, 2005, 05:24:01 PM »
In the links for where to get cannon there is a place to "Big Shots of Idaho" which is part of a big weird site where all sorts of stuff is sold.

The site says: "These are real guns, not waterpipes inside poured pot metal or sawed-off oxyacetylene tanks. These accurately scaled guns are made from 105, 155 & 90 mm howitzer tubes."

Does anybody know anything about these cannon? I might be able to scrape up enough money in while to move up to mountain howitzer size. I'd rather save up longer than blow myself up. They do have very attractive prices. I wondered how good their carriages are. If they make them properly sized but without all the details, I could add ironwork over time. If they are junk, it might not be such a good deal.

I have heard that rifled military barrels don't work at all as rifled BP cannon since the projectiles required for them are too heavy for the size of the tube.

A) great perspective in life!

B) rate of twist?  You could always have it bored to smoothbore if you had a problem.
