Ramrod,

Its Not a matter of how much more the 375 Weatherby Mag will Kill over the 375 H&H Mag. I have been a Weatherby fan since 1950 I bought my first one after three months wages as an apprentice Pipefitter and have been hooked ever since. As some once said Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge International and so forth. Sorry if you think i'm just trying to play big shot or somthing like that. I've had many 375s in my life time and probably didn't need any of them but i liked them so i bought them. The one i have now as you may have noted is not to my liking and this one is a new toy, I may not like it and if i don't its down the road just like the rest. It don't take much of a reason to buy a new gun, I thought that was part of life. Maybe i'm all wrong about this but thats the way i play the game. I hope you enjoy your guns as much as i do mine.......Joe........

You got that right, there is no real reason why we do what we do. I am glad I can get what I want.  :-D  :-D

I'm happy with what I have and I'm sure you are to. A 416 is for some but not everybody. :D

oso45-70, no one accused you of trying to be a big shot. But there are some reasons why the .375 Weatherby is a poor seller, and the .375 H&H is king. Personally, I don't buy guns on a whim, and sell them off if I don't like them. I don't have that kind of money to burn. I like to take a little more time thinking about my purchases, handling different guns, and buying what I like, knowing that I'll keep it for a long time. This usually causes me to end up with classic, time tested guns chambered to the most practical rounds. I also know I won't lose my behind if I have to sell one, compared to the more exotic stuff.

As most know I agree there is just something special about Weatherby's.  Be it their rifles or cartridges.  Got my first one in 1963(Mark V Deluxe) and have been hooked ever since.  Rifles, shotguns and handgun just can't get enough of them.  Lawdog

Roy Weatherby decided to carve out his niche in the firearms world by being the fasted and hardest hitting production guns around. This he accomplished. But the term "Better" is truly subjective. We, as hunter/shooters use whichever rifle/round combination that feels best. I'm not a P C 'Can't we all just get along' guy by nature, but, the general subject between the H&H and Wby is almost mute. Now, why not put it in a specified situation --- animal "X" at distance "X" --- and then discuss needs and merits.
If Ruger (just because I have a theme going) made a production .460 Wby in the No. 1 I'd get one. Not that it would kill better than what I already have. But, so I could take it to the range, fire a couple of rounds, hand it to a buddy and say "Naw, it's not that bad".

Somehow, I don't think you would say those exact words.  If you just took it to the range and fired it off the bench, once you could talk, you would probably say, "HOLY SH........................................................

Your right about the "Holy Sh............" (and never off the bench unless zeroing), except, I'd hold it in untill after my unsuspecting buddy had touched one off. I personally am a recoil junkie, I've been pricing the No. 1 in 458 Lott, but, the gun fund just went for a pistol a few weeks back.
