Have a chance to buy a Savage 11f serial # f716643 with 3x9 simmons scope for $275.00 .  Seller says it has a walnut stock and is a 1980's rifle.
Can anyone confirm this by serial #?  I think price is a little high.

I don't think the price is so bad. You may or may not have to replace the scope.

i think $279 gets you a brand new savage/stevens model 200, thats what i think.

With this rifle, as with all .243Wins be sure to give the barrel a good check.
I had a Savage 110 in .243Win. and it certainly didn't take long to shoot out the barrel.  Actually it was quite the accurate rifle and gave me very little trouble. the barrel just didn't last too long.  This caliber is noted for being quite hard on tubes.  Best wishes.
