Hello All,
I just had a 22" stainless steel .35 whelen barrel installed on an old 700 adl.
My Dad slugged the bore and the bore measures .354"-.355". This seems tight enough to be unsafe and it is not what I paid for.
I don't want to mention who did the work until I see how they deal with this as a customer service issue. They have done work for my Dad and some of my friends in the past and this is the first problem anybody I know has had with their work. I would really like a new barrel with a .358" +/- .005 hole.
This seems tight enough to be unsafe and it is not what I paid for.
I think that a .35 caliber rifle, particularly with a custom barrel, should be between .3575"-.3585". Or tighter.
I have never had a custom barrel done before. What kind of tolerances should I reasonably expect?
Thank You in advance,
John
