Steyr Prohunter sling mounts
« on: May 26, 2005, 03:32:13 PM »
I have a Steyr Prohunter and I am curous if the factory sling mounts can be removed/unscrewed without damaging the stock? I would like to replace them with the detachable type.

The sling mounts can be removed by pushing it in and turning it either left or right.  I do not know how easy it is to remove the flush base mount that is embedded in the stock.  I believe it is just screwed into the stock, but not sure if it is also glued or bedded.
New sling mounts can be ordered from Milletts.
