Browning gold receiver
« on: May 22, 2005, 02:41:47 PM »
I have been using a browning gold 12 ga and a slug barrel for deer season for the past 5 years.  The gun shoots great with Federals Barns Expander 3/4 oz and 1oz 2 3/4" shells.  1.5 in groups at 100 yards.

One problem though.  The receiver is wearing out at where the brass bottom of shell hits the right side of the opening on the receiver as it ejects.  Is this normal, or this has something to do with the fact that I have been using low weight shells (3/4 and 1oz).  There is no significant issue with ejection.  Only an occasional 3/4 oz shell gets cut in the receiver.  But only 1 in maybe 100 shots.

Has anyone seen this issue with their shotgun and is there a solution for it?
