I've been a Remington fan for many years now, but less so in recent years. My last 3 models, 2 700BDLs and a 700VLS have required glass bedding the actions, floating the barrels and trigger adjustments. We're looking at an extra $200. here for each rifle. I personally think this is ridiculous. It's almost like we're buying a kit that we have to finish. The rifles do respond to this treatment, and all three shoot much more accurately now, but should the buyer have to shell out this extra money to get the same degree of accuracy he was getting out of the box in the '80s? Maybe Remington would do better to hire more quality control technicians and gunsmiths and fewer lawyers. It's really becoming a sore point. Best wishes.
