Norseman112, check out the POST on Stevens 200. I would think the 223 would be a super accurate caliber. I have a 308 on order it should be in soon....  :D

Norseman112,
Been thinking on the same line, .223 then maybe a .243
in the fall.  Have yet to see any range reports, maybe nobody has these yet?  Talked to Grices and Bob's in Clfd, good reports on 7mm-08 , sold out in a short time.  People there think it is alot of gun for the money.  If you hear of some reports, please post.  For $285.00 out the door, tax and all, i think this will be the 788 of the future.

I havn't seen any range reports on .223 cal. I did read about the 25-06 being a shooter on this fourm. I did call gander mountian and said they have one in .223. I have a NEF .223 Ultra and shoots good dirty but not very well when clean.  I may have a new stevens 200  by tonite. I will let you know what I think of it if I buy it.

Norseman112,
Hope you get 1 tonight and shoot soon.  Have seen many posts on this gun, but other than the 25-06 no reports.  Must be a bad subject as nobody is typing on it.

                                      thanks coalminer7

Stevens 200 25-06

Groups ran 1/2" to 1" today, was windy, needs a SSS trigger. My $550 Encore 7MM-08 Rifle could only shoot 1 1/2 to 2 1/4 inche groups today. Think I'll get a Stevens 200 7 MM-08 next. :-)

I will be curious to see your range report on your 223.  I am going to buy a stevens 223 or 7mm08 next.  Maybe this will help me decide.

I got the Stevens 200 in 7-08,shoots groups 1"=11/2" at 100yds. I've had
no problems so far.My only complaint is it is butt ugly.Wish it had the acu-trigger too,al though I cam't complain. 8)
