Stevens 200 range report
« on: May 16, 2005, 07:24:00 AM »
Here is my set up.  Stevens 200 25.06, 4X12 Banner scope, Burris mounts and rings.  I did turn the trigger down to 3.5 pounds and took out the creep.  Yesterday I went the range.  I only had a box of remington core lokt 100 grain SP.  I have not got my dies yet.  I cleaned  the barrel after every two shots.  Here is my last 5 shots-the four together can basically be covered by dime.  I am pretty happy for a cheap gun with cheap ammunition, and cheap glass.  I am looking forward to working on some pet loads.

The Stevens are Savage rifles without the accu trigger. Even well before the accu trigger, the Savages were one of the most accurate out of the box rifles made.

Yep.....I figured as such. Nice group and certainly adequate for hunting. I believe the guns are capable of far better groups, but then again, nothing to complain about at all with that group, I'd certainly be happy.  Looks like it might be time to start working on a collection. Let's see, how about all the short actions...............and then..................
