Herters

Been looking at a couple of Herter U9s and was wondering if anyone has/had one and can comment on the rifle?

Back when I was a whole lot younger, I bought a fair amount of stuff from them mailorder but never had one of their firearms.  Now that I have the available cash, thought I would indulge my dreams from 40 years ago.

THE U9 WAS MADE IN ENGLAND BY BSA.THE J9 WAS MADE IN YUGOSLAVIA.WHEN I GOT MY J9,I WAS DISSAPOINTED WITH IT.EVERYTIME YOU OPENED THE BOLT,IT CAME RIGHT OUT OF THE RECEIVER.THE BOLTSTOP WOULD NOT WORK.THE U9 MODEL YOUR LOOKING INTO WAS MORE EXPENSIVE, SO I ASSUME THE QUALITY IS MUCH BETTER.

Appreciate the info.  They do not come cheap nowadays, least not as cheap as they were when I did not have any money!
