Went to a small gun show here in Southern Oregon today and was completely stunned to see a gorgeous Sharps 74 made by a company I had never heard of, and they are in Oregon! The Classic Rifle Co. in Bend is building a dead ringer custom Sharps, with milled actions based on a tracer using an original Sharps. In fact, the fellow I talked to said that every part in their rifles will interchange with an original Sharps. The one he had at the show was a new sporting rifle in .45-90 with gorgeous wood and color case hardening using charred leather. It was very elegant and understated, and the fits were excellent. The rifles start in the low to mid-$2,000s. I have a C. Sharps due soon, or I would have been very tempted. If anyone is interested, the number I had for the builder, John Mitchell, is 541 385-9139.
