dating my pre 64

Hello all, I was looking at my 30/30 today and was wondering how old it is. The gun was passed on to me by my great uncle. The serial number is 852786. I looked on a firearm dating site and it said that it was made in 1919. Is this correct? I still use the gun for deer hunting. It functions flawlessly. It has some dings and scratches on the stock and forearm. It also has a Lyman flip-up peep sight added on to it. Does this devaluate the gun? I would never part with it since it has been passed on to me, but I am interested in learning more about my Uncle's gun. So is it worth anything?
