Hi. Can any of you explain how you change the barrel on the savage action. I've seen alot of pepole talking about how easy it is to just swap the barrels on these actions. So if anybody has any pictures, or explenation how its done. ( I'm not a gunsmith remember ;) )

If you check out Midway they often have a package deal on sale where you can buy the barrel, barrel wrench, head space guages and complete instructions. The barrel is a A&B which is not a high end barrel but exceptable and the whole thing costs less than $200. My BIL did one ( he is absolutely not a gunsmith) in about 30 minutes and it worked extremely well.
I have a well worn Savage 110 22-250 that will get a new barrel on it after next months prairie dogs shoot.

The love of my life, gun wise that is, has just changed from the NEF handi rifle to Savage.  I have a 223/243 that I swap bolt heads and barrels back and forth.  It is unbelievable just how easy it is.  Like it or not, Savage is light years ahead of all the other manufacturers in efficient and accurate rifle design.  And this design was done years ago.  It is just now being recognized as being the best design around.  That is why a box stock Savage will outshoot any rifle costing up to twice what they cost.  If you don't believe it just shoot against one and you will see, or better yet buy one and try it.
