Pre 64 Win mod 94

I will be looking for a pre 64 Win this week. What do I look for? Where did the serial numbers end? How can I be sure it is pre 64? Thanks  :D

Post 64 models began with----2,700,000      You can go to www.oldguns.net to find out what year for winchesters and other makes scroll down on the left side till you find it  under Manufacture dates Good Luck Tanoose
